Emma obtained a double Bachelor’s degree in Social and Cognitive Neurobiological Psychology at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. Her bachelor thesis examined the effects of oral contraceptives on empathy. During her bachelor Emma was taught about many facets of human behavior, which stimulated an ever growing fascination for why people think, feel and act the way they do. As part of a research master in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Radboud University, she is doing her master's internship in the lab of Roshan Cools. Under supervision of Ceyda Sayali, Emma is investigating the biomarkers of cognitive control evaluation, in an attempt to establish which cognitive processes are underlying the changing pupil dynamics with respect to cognitive effort.
