MARWAN ENGELS | RA
Marwan Engels obtained his BSc in Psychology at the Radboud University in 2020. For his Bachelor’s thesis, he examined the EEG alpha and mu rhythm by comparing classic alpha-blocking to the mu response during pain perception. In 2023, he graduated with an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from the Radboud University. He conducted his Master’s thesis under the supervision of Dr. Lennart Verhagen, where he disentangled the veridical neuromodulatory effects of transcranial ultrasonic stimulation on motor cortical excitability from peripheral auditory confounding factors. Besides his studies, Marwan was the treasurer of Dondrite, the study association of Cognitive Neuroscience students at Radboud University.
After completing his Master’s degree, Marwan worked for both Dr. Hanneke den Ouden and Dr. Lennart Verhagen as a research assistant. There, he helped PhD candidate Soha Farboud with her study on the effects of transcranial ultrasonic stimulation on biasing horizontal eye movements during an eye saccade task.
Currently, Marwan is helping with the data acquisition for the pharmaco-fMRI study on dopaminergic mechanisms of inference for language of PhD candidate Elena Mainetto.
