Sjeng Muermans | Trainee

Sjeng is a master's student of cognitive neuroscience at Radboud University. His interests lie in cognitive control, psychopharmacology, and the brain's capacity to make models of both the internal and external world. Sjeng obtained his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Tilburg University where he majored in cognitive neuropsychology. His bachelor thesis investigated the role of multisensory integration in the perceptual learning of ambiguous speech sounds.

Sjeng now works on his master's thesis under supervision of Frank Hezemans, where they will investigate the role of dopamine in average reward rate and response vigor from a computational perspective. The project aims to integrate well-established models from within the decision-making and reinforcement learning literature to better explain the complex underlying psychological processes in decision-making and their neural correlates.
