Yiming zhao | TRAINEE

Yiming is a second-year master student in Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. Before coming to the Netherlands, she obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology at East China Normal University in China. During her master's study, Yiming completed several internships where she investigated how rewards and threats affect value-based decision-making in humans and artificial intelligence using neuroimaging and computationl modeling. She fit Drift-Diffusion models to EEG data and trained reinforcement learning agents.

Yiming joined Roshan's lab as a trainee in early 2025 working on her master thesis under the guidance of Filip Grill. She focuses on how dopamine modulates reinforcement learning and working memory in Parkinson patients. To this end, she will fit reinforcement learning working memory models to behavioral data.
